Preview Roundups
October 26, 2018
Tampa Bay at Vegas 6:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning hope to build off textbook efforts on both ends of the ice from the last two games and extend their point streak to seven when they visit the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. The Lightning posted a franchise-record 54 shots in the victory at Chicago on Sunday and followed that up by limiting red-hot Colorado to 11 shots over the final two periods of a 1-0 win Wednesday.
Winnipeg at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets are not happy with falling behind by multiple goals in back-to-back games, but are encouraged as they travel to Detroit on Friday to face a Red Wings team off to its worst start in 33 years. The Jets offensive firepower garners plenty of headlines, but while a frantic rally from a 3-1 deficit rescued them Monday against St. Louis, a 3-0 gap Wednesday against Toronto proved too much to overcome in a 4-2 defeat as Winnipeg.
San Jose at Carolina 7:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks made a big statement last time out and look to extend their winning streak to four games when they visit the improving Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night. The Sharks, who opened the season shaky with four losses in six games (2-3-1), started their streak by allowing one goal each in two home wins before scoring three times in the third period at Nashville on Tuesday to earn a 5-4 victory.
Ottawa at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
Former third overall draft pick Matt Duchene returns to the place where he began his career and requested a trade, when the Ottawa Senators visit the Colorado Avalanche to open a three-game road trip Friday night. Duchene was dealt to Ottawa in a three-team deal almost a year ago and faced his former team twice since, but both contests were part of the NHL Global Series in Sweden.
