Preview Roundups
December 30, 2018
Detroit at Orlando 3:30 PM ET
The opener of a four-game road trip did not go so well for the Detroit Pistons, who were crushed 125-88 at Indiana on Friday to fall for the 10th time in 13 games. The Orlando Magic, who host the Pistons on Sunday, were in the midst of their own slide before stepping up for an impressive victory over the Toronto Raptors.
Minnesota at Miami 6:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a 123-120 overtime loss at home to the lowly Atlanta Hawks on Friday, and some of the fans weren't happy. The Timberwolves will leave the boos behind when they begin a three-game road trip by visiting the Miami Heat on Sunday.
Chicago at Toronto 6:00 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors are in the unfamiliar position of needing to bounce back from a terrible performance after suffering their biggest loss of the season at Orlando on Friday. The Raptors will try to shake off the disappointing three-game road trip and get themselves right in Canada when they open a two-game homestand by hosting the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
Oklahoma City at Dallas 7:00 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks dropped seven of their last eight games and will try to capture a win at home before hitting the road again when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. The Mavericks are 14-3 at home but just 2-15 on the road and will hit the road for four straight starting Monday, when they visit the Thunder for the back end of the home-and-home set.
Philadelphia at Portland 9:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers could be without star center Joel Embiid when they continue their five-game road trip Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Embiid recorded 23 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots in Thursday's 114-97 win at Utah but missed Saturday's practice due to knee pain and might sit out his first game of the season due to injury.
Sacramento at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
After a resounding Christmas Day win over the defending champs, the Los Angeles Lakers have hit the skids without their superstar leader. LeBron James is still considered day-to-day as the Lakers prepare to host the Sacramento Kings, who delivered one of Los Angeles' two James-less losses, on Sunday.
