Bruins 4, Panthers 1: Brad Marchand scored to snap a 12-game goalless drought and defenseman Torey Krug tallied for the second straight contest as host Boston defeated Florida for sixth consecutive time.

David Krejci and Reilly Smith also scored and Tuukka Rask turned aside 23 shots as the Bruins posted their second win in their last six contests (2-3-1).

Jesse Winchester netted his fourth goal to match his career high, set in 2010-11 with Ottawa. Scott Clemmensen finished with 26 saves for the reeling Panthers, who fell to 0-3-4 in their last seven contests.

After a scoreless first period, Boston enjoyed the better of play in the second by registering seven of the first eight shots on goal before Krejci drew first blood at 7:17. Krejci completed a give-and-go with captain Zdeno Chara before unleashing a one-timer from just inside the blue line that beat Clemmensen, who was being screened by veteran Jarome Iginla.

Marchand doubled the advantage 4:09 into the third period after using a deke to create space and skate out from along the right-wing boards. The Nova Scotia native fed defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, who promptly blasted a shot that Clemmensen stopped - but Marchand alertly tapped home the loose puck at the right post.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Panthers G Tim Thomas, who was watching the game from the press box while nursing a lower-body injury, waved to the crowd after receiving a standing ovation upon being shown on the scoreboard. A two-time Vezina Trophy winner, Thomas won the Conn Smythe Trophy during the Bruins' Stanley Cup-winning season of 2010-11. ... Boston C Patrice Bergeron exited the contest late in the second period after he was clipped in the face with a puck. He returned to start the third and picked up an assist on Krug's goal. ... Florida failed on all four power-play opportunities to drop to 2-for-29 in its last 11 games.
