Browns 29, Titans 28: Brian Hoyer hit Travis Benjamin in the back of the end zone with 1:09 remaining in the fourth quarter as visiting Cleveland overcame a 25-point deficit to stun Tennessee.

Hoyer went 21-of-37 for 292 yards and three touchdowns as the Browns (2-2) won for just the third time in their last 27 road games. Cleveland fell behind 28-3 late in the second quarter but chipped away in the second half with a field goal and a blocked punt for a safety before Hoyer and Benjamin hooked up for a pair of TDs, including the go-ahead score on which the wideout tip-toed the back line for a 6-yard touchdown.

Jake Locker went 8-of-11 for 79 yards and a touchdown but took a brutal hit on an 11-yard scoring run early in the second quarter and exited later with a right hand injury. Charlie Whitehurst came on and completed 13-of-21 passes for 194 yards and a pair of TDs for the Titans (1-4), who have lost four in a row.

Locker found Kendall Wright for an 11-yard TD pass to get Tennessee on the board and scrambled for an 11-yard rushing score early in the second, taking a big hit that resulted in his head hitting the turf hard and ignited some pushing and shoving between the teams. Locker passed concussion tests and returned before leaving on the next offensive possession due to the hand injury.

Whitehurst’s second pass went to Wright for another 11-yard TD and he threw deep on the next possession to Justin Hunter, who beat his man in single coverage and raced for a 75-yard score. Hoyer’s 1-yard TD pass to tight end Jim Dray with 12 seconds left in the half cut Cleveland's deficit to 28-10, and his 17-yard hookup with Benjamin got the club within 28-22 with 6:49 left in the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Locker, who sat out Week 4 with a right wrist injury, had his hand wrapped and watched the second half out of uniform. … Hoyer’s three TD passes matched his total from the first three games. … Tank Carder recorded the blocked punt for the Browns, marking the team’s first since 2003.
