No. 7 Baylor 63, Buffalo 21: Bryce Petty threw for 416 yards and four touchdowns in his return from a back injury as the Bears rolled past the host Bulls.

KD Cannon made six catches for 189 yards and a score while Jay Lee and Lynx Hawthorne each had two TD receptions while gaining 136 and 123 yards, respectively, for Baylor (3-0). Shock Linwood rushed 20 times for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Bears outgained Buffalo 669-394.

Joe Licata completed 14-of-25 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown for Buffalo (1-2) while Jordan Johnson gained a career-high 97 yards on 20 carries. Backup quarterback Tony Daniel was 4-of-6 for 84 yards and a late scoring toss to Malcolm Robinson.

Baylor scored on its first four possessions, getting two touchdown runs from Linwood and TD passes by Petty to Cannon for 89 yards and Lee for 30 yards, with the latter coming less than a minute into the second quarter. Johnny Jefferson's 14-yard scoring run gave the Bears a 35-0 halftime lead and more touchdowns in the first half than Buffalo - which dropped a would-be TD pass in the first quarter - had first downs (four).

Petty answered two Buffalo scores - Licata's 41-yard pass to Devon Hughes and Anthone Taylor's 41-yard run - with touchdown passes to Hawthorne and Lee before leaving the game with a 49-14 lead after three quarters. Baylor backup Seth Russell ran for a 31-yard score and hit Hawthorne for a 37-yard touchdown one play after a turnover in his only two series.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Buffalo has allowed 47 or more points against three straight FBS opponents (49 to San Diego State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and 47 to Army last week). ... After playing three games in 13 days, Baylor doesn't return to the field until its Big 12 Conference opener at Iowa State on Sept. 27. ... Russell finished 2-of-3 for 64 yards and third-string QB Chris Johnson led the final two Baylor series.
