Mississippi 27, No. 8 LSU 24: Andrew Ritter kicked a 41-yard field goal with two seconds left for the host Rebels, who blew a 17-0 lead before upsetting the Tigers and ending their national championship hopes.
Jaylen Walton rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns as Ole Miss (4-3, 2-3 SEC) snapped a three-game losing streak and ended a three-game slide to LSU despite missing six players on defense. Bo Wallace was 30-of-39 for 346 yards for the Rebels, who were also without leading rusher Jeff Scott.
Zach Mettenberger was 19-of-33 for 274 yards with a touchdown and a career-high three interceptions - two in the end zone - for LSU (6-2, 3-2). Jeremy Hill and Kenny Hilliard rushed for touchdowns while Jarvis Landry recorded 106 of his 121 receiving yards and caught a TD pass in the second half.
Ole Miss went ahead 17-0 with 9:29 left in the third quarter on Walton's 2-yard touchdown run. After a 1-yard score by Hilliard and a 3-yard TD run by Hill on successive possessions brought the Tigers within 17-14, the Rebels answered with a 26-yard jaunt by Walton with three seconds left in the third.
LSU turned Korvic Neat's muffed punt into a 41-yard field goal by Colby Delahoussaye with 11:22 left and Ego Ferguson blocked Ritter's 29-yard field goal attempt on the ensuing drive. The Tigers promptly went 80 yards and tied the game on Mettenberger's 4-yard touchdown pass to Landry with 3:19 left.
GAME NOTEBOOK: LSU allowed its first touchdown in seven quarters when short-yardage quarterback Barry Brunetti capped a six-play, 83-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Nicholas Parker to give Ole Miss a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter. ... LB Serderius Bryant (concussion) and his team-leading 55 tackles was among the missing Ole Miss players. ... The Rebels had lost 11 straight to top 10 teams since they knocked off the Tigers 25-23 in 2009.
