No. 6 Florida State 41, Maryland 14: Devonta Freeman rushed for two touchdowns and E.J. Manuel threw for two more as the visiting Seminoles trounced the Terrapins to secure a berth in the ACC championship game for the second time in three years.

Freeman finished with 148 yards and James Wilder Jr. added a 22-yard score for sixth-ranked Florida State (10-1, 7-1), which has won five straight and owns a tiebreaker over Clemson (9-1, 6-1) due to its 49-37 victory over the Tigers on Sept. 22.

The Seminoles wasted little time sending the Terrapins (4-7, 2-5) to their fifth straight loss as Freeman capped their 11-play opening drive with a 5-yard touchdown run.

Maryland fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Manuel connected with Nick O'Leary, the grandson of golf legend Jack Nicklaus, on a 10-yard scoring strike to silence the crowd at Byrd Stadium.

Kevin Dorsey reeled in a pair of touchdown passes for the Terrapins, who mustered just 27 of their 170 total yards in the first half. The final total was Maryland's fewest since amassing 180 versus North Carolina State in 2004.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Terrapins avoided their first home shutout since 1997 after Shawn Petty found Dorsey for a 33-yard score on the first drive of the third quarter. ... Kenneth Tate became the first Maryland player to record three sacks in a game since former San Diego Chargers star Shawne Merriman (2002 vs. North Carolina).
