No. 14 Louisville 27, South Florida 25: Teddy Bridgewater threw two touchdown passes, including an 11-yard scoring strike to Eli Rogers up the middle with 1:35 left, as the Cardinals edged the visiting Bulls.
Bridgewater completed 21 of 25 passes for 256 yards and took the Cardinals (7-0, 2-0 Big East) on a 75-yard drive in eight plays to hand South Florida its fifth straight loss. The Bulls reached midfield on the final drive, but could not get any closer.
South Florida quarterback B.J. Daniels threw for three touchdowns, including a go-ahead 12-yarder to Andre Davis with 3:09 remaining for a 25-21 lead. Davis caught a pair of touchdown passes for the Bulls (2-5, 0-3) and Lindsey Lamar ran for 110 yards -- his first career 100-yard rushing game.
The Bulls were stopped inside the Louisville 1-yard line on three straight plays late in the third quarter, giving up the ball on downs while trailing 21-10.
Bridgewater was 11-of-11 in the first half for 125 yards and rushed for 48 (78 in the game) on four carries as Louisville took a 14-3 halftime lead. Senorise Perry bulled in from 1 yard on fourth down two plays into the second quarter and Jeremy Wright added an 11-yard run for a score with 3:38 left until halftime for the Cardinals.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Bridgewater has completed 93 of 113 passes in four home games this season (82.3 percent). … Daniels passed for 189 yards. … Louisville moved to 2-0 in the Big East for only the second time (2006). … The series is tied 5-5.
