Penn State 24, Temple 13: Matt McGloin threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Allen Robinson and rushed for two more scores as host Penn State continued its mastery of Temple.
McGloin dissected the Owls' defense, completing 24 of 36 passes for 318 yards as the Nittany Lions (2-2) won their 31st consecutive decision over the Owls (1-2) dating to 1941.
The senior quarterback used his size to cap a pair of drives, rushing in from 1 and 2 yards out to give Penn State a 21-3 advantage with 4:57 left in the third quarter.
Although McGloin spread the ball around to nine different receivers, Robinson continued to prove to be McGloin's trustiest target. The sophomore wideout reeled in five balls for 82 yards to increase his season total to 404 yards in four games.
All was not rosy for Penn State, which saw running back Michael Zordich exit the contest with a left knee sprain. He rushed 15 times for 75 yards and hauled in four receptions for 39 yards before departing.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Members of Penn State's 1982 national championship team were honored during halftime. That team was the first in school history to win a national title. ... Another fast start propelled Penn State, which has outscored its opponents 35-0 in the first quarter and 55-9 by halftime. ... Temple RB Matt Brown, who sprained his ankle last week, capped the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown reception with 1:33 to play.
