Tino Sunseri passed for a touchdown and ran for another as Pittsburgh halted host Louisville's three-game winning streak with a 21-14 victory Saturday.
Zach Brown ran for 86 yards to lead Pittsburgh's 200-yard rushing attack as the Panthers (5-5, 3-2 Big East) won their first road game and stayed on track for a fourth straight bowl game.
Louisville (5-5, 3-2), which reached the red zone only once, lost its fourth straight to Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh quarterback Teddy Bridgewater repeatedly retreated early from the pocket in the face of an aggressive defense and looked like a freshman again only a month after outdueling more experienced counterparts.
Trailing 14-7 with less than five minutes left, Louisville's conference-leading defense grabbed momentum with a three-and-out. Eli Rogers, though, fumbled a punt at his own 33, and the Panthers cashed it in for a touchdown three minutes later on a 4-yard plunge by Sunseri.
Sunseri finished 16-of-22 passing for 196 yards, and didn't commit a turnover after throwing five picks in the previous two road games.
