Tommy Streeter hauled in a pair of long touchdown passes from Jacory Harris as Miami pulled away from Bethune-Cookman, 45-14, on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Wildcats (2-2) led 7-0 after one quarter on a 1-yard touchdown pass from Jackie Wilson to Eddie Poole, and actually finished the day with a 420-335 advantage in total yardage. The Hurricanes (2-2) forced a pair of turnovers though, including an early Bethune-Cookman fumble at the 2-yard line.
Harris hit Streeter for a 56-yard score to tie it with 7:16 left in the half. Miami took the lead for good less than two minutes later when it turned a 44-yard Travis Benjamin punt return into the first of Lamar Miller's two rushing touchdowns.
Streeter added a 27-yard scoring catch with 13:13 left in the fourth quarter to make it 31-14. Kelvin Cain capped the scoring with two minutes remaining, returning an interception 59 yards for a touchdown.
Miller led the Miami offense with 102 yards rushing on 14 carries. Bethune-Cookman quarterbacks were sacked seven times on the afternoon
