Russell Wilson threw three touchdowns and Montee Ball rushed for 118 yards and a pair of scores in No. 9 Wisconsin’s 35-0 rout of Oregon State at Camp Randall Stadium.
Wilson completed 17-of-21 passes for 189 yards and threw a pair of first-half touchdowns to Jacob Pedersen as the Badgers took a 21-0 halftime lead. Ball scored both his touchdowns in the second half as the Badgers (2-0) extended their non-conference home win streak to 22.
The Badgers forced Oregon State to punt on its first five possessions. In the second half, it didn’t get much better for the Beavers, who turned the ball over on downs three times, punted and lost a fumble.
Wisconsin limited the Beavers to 282 total yards and held them to just 21 yards on 24 carries. The shutout was the first for the Badgers since 2009, when they defeated Purdue 37-0.
Ryan Katz got the start for Oregon State, which fell to 0-2 and will get a week off before its first Pac-12 game on Sept. 24 against UCLA. Katz was replaced by freshman Sean Mannion early in the first quarter after just three plays, with Mannion completing 25-of-38 passes for 244 yards.
The Beavers fell to 6-14 in their last 20 games against ranked opponents.
Wisconsin finished with 397 total yards, including 208 on the ground.
