Florida's Ahmad Black intercepted Matthew McGloin and returned it 80 yards for a touchdown, thwarting Penn State's potential winning drive and lifting the Gators to a 37-24 victory in the Outback Bowl on Saturday in Urban Meyer's last game as Florida's head coach.

It wasn't pretty -- the teams combined for seven turnovers and neither topped 300 yards of total offense until Penn State's final drive. But the Gators (8-5) managed to put together three consecutive scoring drives spanning the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth to take the lead after falling behind 24-17.

The Gators used a trio of quarterbacks, but freshman Jordan Reed was the most effective, completing 8-of-13 passes for 61 yards and rushing for 70 yards on 24 carries. McGloin drove the Nittany Lions (7-6) to the Florida 25-yard line with 1:11 left, but Black's second interception of the game ended the threat. McGloin finished with 209 yards on 17-of-42 passing with five interceptions. Evan Royster rushed for 99 yards on 20 carries for Penn State.

Florida punter Chas Henry, who also took over as the Gators' kicker after Caleb Sturgis suffered a hairline fracture of his vertebrae during the regular season, made three field goals in the second half.

The game was the 37th bowl game for Penn State coach Joe Paterno, who has said he will return next season.
