Brandon Weeden passed for 387 yards and three touchdowns as Oklahoma State kept its Big 12 title hopes alive with a 48-14 demolition of Kansas on Saturday.
Justin Blackmon caught 10 passes for 130 yards and a score and Kendall Hunter rushed for 105 yards for the Cowboys (10-1, 6-1 Big 12), who need to beat Oklahoma next week to earn a spot in the Big 12 title game and keep their BCS Bowl hopes alive.
Kansas (3-8, 1-6) actually led, 14-10, after the first quarter but Oklahoma State wasted little time climbing back on top as Weeden found Josh Cooper for a 21-yard touchdown early in the second and Dan Bailey added a field goal to give the Cowboys a 20-14 edge at the half.
Oklahoma State piled on in the second half, scoring twice in the third on a 5-yard run by Jeremy Smith and Michael Harrison’s return of a blocked punt. Weeden capped the rout with two more touchdown passes in the fourth.
The Cowboys did not punt in the game and finished with 598 yards of total offense while holding the Jayhawks to 289.
