James Van Fleet returned a blocked punt for a touchdown late in the third quarter and Penn State scored the game's final 17 points for a 41-24 win over Indiana in Saturday.
The game, originally on Indiana's home schedule, was played at Fed Ex Field in Landover, Md.
Andrew Dailey blocked Chris Hagerup's punt and Fleet scooped up the ball and ran to the end zone, breaking a 24-24 tie.
Wagner added a 35-yard field goal and Silas Redd scored on a 1-yard run as Penn State pulled away.
Penn State (6-4. 3-3) scored first on Evan Royster's 2-yard run before Matthew McGloin passed to Brett Brackett for a 3-yard touchdown.
Trea Burgess scored on a 4-yard run for Indiana. After Collin Wagner kicked a 42-yard field goal for Penn State, Ben Chappell's 12-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Turner late in the second quarter made it a 17-14 game at halftime.
Mitch Ewald kicked a 49-yard field goal early in third quarter tied the game, but McGloin hit Derek Moye with a 21-yard scoring pass, giving Penn State at 24-17 lead.
Indiana (4-7, 0-7) tied the game two minutes later when Ben Chappell hit Tandon Doss for a 3-yard score.
