Florida jumped out to a 35-0 lead and coasted to a 48-10 win over Appalachian State, Saturday in Gainesville, Fla.
The Gators (7-4, 4-4) racked up 547 yards of offense led by Jordan Reed who ran for two touchdowns and threw for another. Quarterback John Brantley was efficient, completing 16 of 22 passes for 222 yards, and he caught the touchdown from Reed.
Chris Rainey started the scoring barrage with a 16-yard run three minutes into the game to give the Gators a 7-0 lead.
Reed, whose role has increased each week, scored on Florida’s first drive of the second half. His one-yard run gave the Gators a 35-0 lead.
Appalachian State (9-2, 7-1) was led by quarterback DeAndre Presley, who threw for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Florida wraps up its regular season at Florida State next week.
