Morris hit Leonard Hankerson for a 35-yard touchdown pass with 45 seconds left in the game. Lamar Miller completed the play by making a two-point conversion for the final 26-20 score.

Morris, who replaced injured quarterback Jacory Harris, finished the day making 18 completions on 30 attempts for 287 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Hurricanes struck first in the contest when Miller rushed for an 8-yard touchdown in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.

Maryland made a second-quarter turnaround. Quarterback Danny O'Brien hit Kevin Dorsey on a 42-yard gain on the first play of the quarter for a touchdown. Three minutes later, the Terps' Alex Wujciak intercepted Morris for a 60 yard touchdown return to put Maryland up 14-6.

Miami answered with a 10-play, 80-yard drive that ended in a Mike James 2-yard touchdown. Placekicker Matt Bosher missed the point after, bringing the score to 14-13. The two teams traded field goals to finish the first half with Maryland holding a 17-15 lead.
