Kansas overcame a 28-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun Colorado 52-45, Saturday in a battle of Big 12 North cellar-dwellers in Lawrence, Kan.

The Jayhawks (3-6, 1-4 Big 12) trailed 45-17 early in the fourth quarter, but scored the game's last 35 points to earn their first conference win of the season.

James Sims scored on a 28-yard run--his fourth touchdown of the game--with 52 seconds left to complete the remarkable comeback. Sims finished with 141 yards rushing, with three of his touchdowns coming in the fourth quarter.

After Sims' go-ahead touchdown, Colorado drove inside the Kansas 10, but failed to score what would have been a tying touchdown.

Rodney Stewart scored three touchdowns to lead Colorado (3-6, 0-5 Big 12), which remains winless in conference play. Cody Hawkins threw three touchdown passes, including a 12-yard score to DeVaughn Thornton that put the Buffaloes up 35-10 at half. Hawkins completed 29-of-44 passes for 322 yards with two interceptions.

Kansas quarterback Quinn Mecham completed 23-of-28 passes for 252 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
