Auburn rolled up 441 rushing yards against the nation's sixth-best run defense and won a matchup of the SEC's last remaining undefeated teams, beating visiting LSU 24-17 on Saturday.

Auburn quarterback Cam Newton topped 170 rushing yards for the fifth time this season, running for 217 yards on 28 carries. Newton scored on runs of 1 and 49 yards.

Michael Dyer also hit the 100-yard mark for Auburn (8-0, 5-0 SEC), and Onterio McCalebb added a 70-yard touchdown run for the go-ahead score with 5:05 left.

LSU (7-1, 4-1 SEC) entered the game ranked sixth in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 83.6 yards per game, but Auburn topped 300 yards on the ground for a fourth consecutive SEC game.

Auburn's 15th-ranked run defense fared better, limiting LSU to 114 yards on the ground and holding leading rusher Stevan Ridley to 36 yards on 12 carries.

Quarterback Jordan Jefferson ran for a team-high 74 yards and a touchdown for LSU, which also scored on a 39-yard touchdown pass from fullback Spencer Ware to Rueben Randle to tie it at 17 with 12:16 left.

With his 43-yard field goal in the second quarter, Auburn kicker Wes Byrum became the school's all-time leading scorer.
