Steven Threet threw two touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Arizona State over Washington 24-14 in a Pac-10 Conference game in the rain on Saturday night.

Threet (21-of-33, 286 yards) did most of his work in the first half as ASU (3-3, 1-2 Pac-10) carried a 21-7 lead into the half. The victory snapped Arizona State’s eight-game conference losing streak.

Threet fired a 4-yard touchdown pass to Gerell Robinson to give ASU a 7-0 lead. After Washington quarterback Jake Locker dove into the end zone to tie the game, Threet responded with a 1-yard scoring plunge of his own. Threet then hit Mike Willie from 20 yards out late in the first half to make it 21-7.

Washington closed the gap to 21-14 on a 15-yard-touchdown pass from Locker to D’Andre Goodwin on a 4th-and-2 play early in the final quarter.
But the Sun Devils got a 22-yard field goal by Thomas Weber with six minutes left to put the game out of reach.

Arizona State has beaten Washington (2-3, 1-1) seven straight times.
