Army capitalized on five Duke turnovers and pounded the host Blue Devils 35-21, Saturday in Durham, N.C.
Army picked off Duke quarterback Sean Renfree twice in the first quarter and jumped ahead 14-0 on short touchdown runs by Brian Cobbs and Trent Steelman.
The Blue Devils got on the board with Brandon Connette’s 10-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter.
But the Black Knights responded with 21 straight points and took a commanding 35-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
One week after surrendering 62 points to Alabama, the Duke defense again struggled. Army finished with 249 yards rushing..
Steelman completed only 4-of-6 passes, but two went for touchdowns. He also had a team-high 60 yards rushing.
Renfree threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and finished 17-of-30 for 251 yards and three interceptions.
With the win, the Black Knights (3-1) ended a 17-game road losing streak to ACC teams. They host Temple next week.
Duke (1-3) returns to ACC play at Maryland.
