Colorado went to the locker room and found its offense.
The Buffaloes, down 10-0 at halftime, erupted for a 31-13 victory over visiting Hawaii on Saturday. Colorado (2-1) scored 17 straight points in the third quarter.
The Buffaloes' defense recorded a safety in between a pair of touchdown runs by Rodney Stewart, and Colorado led 17-10 lead with 7:12 left in the third quarter.
Colorado put the game away in the fourth on a pair of touchdown passes by Tyler Hansen.
Hansen completed 19-of-26 throws for 200 yards, a big chunk coming on a 73-yard scoring strike to Toney Clemons that upped Colorado's lead to 24-13. Hansen capped the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Scotty McKnight with 3:35 to play.
Colorado had great balance on offense, piling up 452 total yards with a pair of running backs going over the 100-yard mark. Brian Lockridge led Colorado with 109 yards on 14 carries and Stewart added 106 yards on 22 carries.
For Hawaii (1-2), Bryant Moniz was 26-of-41 for 340 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Scott Enos added two field goals for the Warriors, who were held to eight yards rushing and just 3-of-11 on third-down conversions.
