Clemson rolled up 417 yards of total offense, including 254 in the first half, and pounded overmatched Presbyterian College 58-21 on Saturday at Clemson's Memorial Stadium.
Clemson quarterbacks Kyle Parker and Tajh Boyd combined to complete their first eight passes and finished the first half 9-for-10 for 159 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Tigers to a 42-0 halftime lead.
Parker ended the game 6-for-9 for 114 yards, connecting on touchdown passes to Jaron Brown and Dwayne Allen. Boyd threw for 88 yards on 4-of-9 passing, throwing touchdowns to DeAndre Hopkins and Daniel Barnes.
Eleven players carried the ball for the Tigers, with Roderick McDowell leading the way with 87 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Allen led 10 Clemson receivers with two catches for 67 yards and the one touchdown.
Michael Ruff caught eight passes for 74 yards and hauled in a pair of touchdown passes in the second half for the Blue Hose, scoring on a 4-yard toss from Brandon Miley and a 20-yard strike from Myron Gary.
Gary also rushed for a team-high 55 yards on seven carries for Presbyterian, which has lost 16 consecutive games.
