Alouettes 42, Redblacks 32: Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns as visiting Montreal led from start to finish against Ottawa to register its first winning season since 2012.

Adams went 13-of-16 before he was rested in the second half while Jarveon Williams rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown for the Alouettes (10-8), who will host the Edmonton Eskimos in the East Division semifinal Nov. 10. Dante Absher hauled in seven passes for 81 yards and a touchdown while Eugene Lewis gained 50 on four receptions to go along with a score for Montreal.

Dominique Davis completed 16-of-18 passes for 155 yards before suffering a suspected concussion for the Redblacks (3-15), who finished the season on an 11-game losing streak. Short yardage quarterback Jonathon Jennings rushed for three touchdowns while Brad Sinopoli caught eight passes for 100 yards as Ottawa fell to 1-8 at home.

Adams threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Lewis to help Montreal jump out to a 9-0 lead before Lewis Ward kicked a 27-yard field goal to cut Ottawa's deficit to six points after one quarter. Adams fired a 9-yard scoring strike to Jake Wieneke to put the Alouettes on top 16-3 before Ward connected on a pair of field goals from 18 and 47 yards to pull the Redblacks within six points at intermission.

Matthew Shiltz found Absher for his first CFL touchdown to stretch Montreal's advantage to 24-11 before Jennings scored a pair of 1-yard quarterback sneaks to close the gap to 28-24 early in the fourth quarter. Williams sped away for a 35-yard touchdown to put the Alouettes on top 35-24 before Jennings rushed for his third TD to close the gap to three following a successful two-point conversion, but Najee Murray returned an interception for a 15-yard score with 39 seconds left to preserve the victory.
