Argonauts 39, Redblacks 9: McLeod Bethel-Thompson threw for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the first two quarters before Toronto pulled away in the second half to hand visiting Ottawa its 10th straight defeat.

Bethel-Thompson completed 15-of-22 passes before giving the reins to backup Dakota Prukop, who was 6-of-8 for 98 yards with two scoring strikes in the third quarter as the Argonauts (4-13) completed a sweep of the season series. Armanti Edwards finished with six receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown while Rodney Smith made four catches for 71 yards and two TDs, including one from third quarterback Michael O'Connor in the fourth quarter.

Will Arndt was 21-of-32 for 194 yards and a touchdown as Ottawa (3-14) scored fewer than 19 points for the ninth time in 10 contests. Caleb Holley made five catches for 64 yards while leading receiver Dominique Rhymes' lone reception resulted in a TD for the Redblacks, whose quarterbacks have registered only 11 scoring passes and 26 interceptions in 17 games.

It took three possessions before the Argonauts put points on the board as Bethel-Thompson connected with Edwards for a 33-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead after one quarter. Arndt connected with Rhymes for a 36-yard score and Brad Sinopoli on the two-point conversion to tie the game at 8-8 before Bethel-Thompson's 12-yard TD pass to Chandler Worthy with 51 seconds left gave Toronto a 15-8 advantage at intermission.

Prukop drove the Argonauts for a score on his first possession, hitting Smith for a 13-yard touchdown, and added more points on the next drive that ended with a 15-yard catch and run by A.J. Ouellette for a 29-8 lead. O'Connor (5-of-9, 61 yards passing) took over in the final quarter, increasing the lead with an 11-yard TD strike to Smith, and Toronto went on to post just its third win in its last seven contests.

Green went over 1,000 yards receiving (1,026) for the seventh time in his career and ranks second on the team behind injured WR Derek Walker (1,040). … Sinopoli reached 500 career catches (501) by making four against the Argonauts. … The Redblacks have not won since recording an overtime triumph against Montreal on Aug. 2. … Bethel-Thompson leads the league with 26 touchdown passes. … Toronto LB Nakas Onyeka recorded the first two sacks of his career. … Ottawa LB Kevin Brown II led the way with a career-best 11 tackles.
