Tiger-Cats 38, Argonauts 27: Dane Evans threw for a career-high 442 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Hamilton rallied from a double-digit deficit to beat visiting Toronto on Labour Day for the sixth consecutive time.

Evans completed 31-of-37 passes and added 42 yards to go along with a touchdown on the ground and Bralon Addison hauled in 11 passes for a career-high 167 yards and two touchdowns for the Tiger-Cats, who improved to a league-best 9-2. Jackson Bennett rushed for 77 yards and a score while Brandon Banks gained 109 on nine receptions for Hamilton, which opened up an eight-point cushion atop the East Division.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson went 22-of-42 through the air for 337 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Argonauts (1-9), who were outscored 27-3 in the second half. Derel Walker had a career day as he caught nine passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns for Toronto, which has dropped 14 consecutive road games.

Evans ran untouched for a 10-yard touchdown on the opening possession before Bethel-Thompson answered with a 96-yard scoring strike to Walker, and Tyler Crapigna kicked a pair of field goals (40, 38 yards) to put the Argonauts on top 14-8. Lirim Hajrullahu ended the 14-point run by knocking through a 39-yard field goal before Walker caught a 24-yard touchdown pass and Crapigna converted a 33-yard attempt with 14 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Argonauts a 24-11 halftime advantage.

Hajrullahu drilled a 50-yard field goal and Addison caught a 5-yard touchdown pass to pull Hamilton within three before Crapigna split the uprights from 39 yards to give Toronto a 27-21 edge heading into the fourth quarter. Bennett scooted into the end zone from 25 yards out and Evans hit Addison on a crossing route for a 17-yard TD to vault the Tiger-Cats in front 35-27 before Hajrullahu nailed a 44-yard field goal with 1:20 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hamilton DBs Tunde Adeleke (bumping an official) and Frankie Williams (rough play) were ejected for their roles in a first-quarter brawl. … Bethel-Thompson has passed for more than 300 yards in six of his last eight starts. ... Tiger-Cats DE Dylan Wynn, who was one of the CFL's Top Performers of the Month in August, has registered at least one sack in five consecutive games . … Evans completed 19 straight passes in the second half, which is tied for the fifth-longest streak in CFL history. … The announced attendance of 25,093 was the largest at Tim Horton's Field.
