Roughriders 40, Redblacks 18: Cody Fajardo threw for one touchdown and ran for another as Saskatchewan extended its winning streak to five games by defeating visiting Ottawa.

Fajardo completed 24-of-36 passes for 241 yards, including a scoring strike to Naaman Roosevelt, as the Roughriders (6-3) tied Edmonton for second place (12 points) in the West Division with a game in hand. William Powell ran for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Shaq Evans gained 63 yards on six receptions and Roosevelt made four catches for 51 yards to pace Saskatchewan, which last won five in a row in 2014.

Jonathan Jennings was 16-of-26 for 208 yards and a TD in relief of starter Dominique Davis, who threw interceptions on three straight possessions to start the game for the Redblacks (3-7). Dominique Rhymes finished with four receptions for 95 yards and a score to lead Ottawa, which has dropped seven of its last eight games and lost to Roughriders for the first time in five meetings.

Saskatchewan capitalized on Davis' three interceptions to take a 17-0 lead after one quarter as Powell ran 4 yards to open the scoring, Fajardo followed with a 14-yard TD run and Brett Lauther booted a 46-yard field goal. A pair of kicks by Lewis Ward and a 75-yard scoring strike from Jennings to Rhymes cut Ottawa's deficit to nine points before Lauther's 49-yarder with 22 seconds left in the half gave the Roughriders a 24-12 advantage.

Ward pulled the Redblacks within 25-15 with a 44-yard field goal, but Saskatchewan responded with a seven-play drive that ended with Fajardo's 15-yard touchdown pass to Roosevelt with 2:03 left in the third quarter. Ward converted a 32-yard attempt on the first play of the fourth quarter, but Ottawa's offence sputtered the rest of the way and Powell capped the scoring with a 23-yard TD run with 2:31 remaining.
