Blue Bombers 31, Redblacks 1: Matt Nichols threw for 295 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Winnipeg remained the only undefeated team in the CFL with a rout of visiting Ottawa.

Nichols completed 25-of-29 passes and Andrew Harris finished with 131 yards from scrimmage along with a touchdown reception for the Blue Bombers, who are 5-0 for the first time since opening the 1960 season with 10 straight wins. Kenny Lawler made five catches for 83 yards and his first CFL touchdown reception for Winnipeg, which has won six of its last seven meetings with the Redblacks.

Jonathon Jennings, making his first start in place of Dominique Davis, was just 6-of-15 for 45 yards with one interception as Ottawa (2-3) suffered its third straight loss. Filling in for the injured Mossis Madu Jr., John Crockett gained 88 yards on 15 carries for the Redblacks (2-3) in his second CFL game.

Winston Rose opened the scoring by stepping in front of an Ottawa receiver and returning an interception 71 yards for a touchdown 8:53 into the game before Nichols connected with Harris for a 15-yard TD early in the second quarter as the Blue Bombers built a 14-1 lead. Nichols found Lawler over the middle for a 54-yard score and backup quarterback Chris Streveler sneaked into the end zone from 2 yards out with 13 seconds left in the half to give Winnipeg a 28-1 cushion.

The Redblacks could not get anything going in the third quarter, recording only seven plays from scrimmage and one first down while punting three times as the Blue Bombers' defence (three sacks overall) put up a stop sign. Justin Medlock connected on a 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to extend the lead and Ottawa's last drive ended when backup Will Arndt (4-of-13, 57 yards) was intercepted by Chris Humes deep in Blue Bombers' territory.
