Alouettes 36, Redblacks 19: Vernon Adams Jr. threw for a career-high 327 yards and accounted for a total of four touchdowns as host Montreal used a second-half surge to pull away from Ottawa.

William Stanback ran for 100 yards and Adams rushed for 41 yards and two TDs while also throwing a pair of scoring passes for Montreal (2-2), which pulled even with the Redblacks (2-2) for second place in the East Division. Quan Bray recorded 134 yards and a touchdown on five catches while B.J. Cunningham added 64 yards on a team-high six receptions for the Alouettes.

Dominique Davis passed for 268 yards and ran for two scores for Ottawa, which has totaled 33 points in two straight losses after averaging 38 during its 2-0 start. John Crockett paced the Redblacks with 62 rushing yards in his CFL debut while R.J. Harris led the team with six catches and 89 yards receiving.

Boris Bede converted three field goals to stake Montreal to a 9-0 advantage midway through the second quarter before Ottawa evened it over the final 3:45 of the first half behind a 25-yard field goal from Lewis Ward and a 1-yard TD plunge by Davis just before intermission. Ward converted a 50-yard attempt on the first drive of the second half to give the Redblacks their first lead, but the Alouettes moved ahead for good one play later as Adams found a wide-open Bray downfield for a 75-yard score.

Adams found Jake Wieneke on the next possession for a 6-yard TD to make it 22-12 and stretched the lead to 17 points when he found the end zone from 12 yards out with 10:28 remaining. Davis returned the favor just over five minutes later with his second TD run, but Adams scored from 1 yard out with 1:44 left to restore the 17-point advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Montreal improved to 5-2 in games started by Adams since 2016. All other Alouettes starting quarterbacks have combined for a 12-39 record over that same time. … Redblacks WR Brad Sinopoli finished with four receptions, making him only the second player to reach 400 career catches with the club. … Stanback has amassed 303 yards - and three touchdowns - on 40 carries over the last two games after totaling 154 on 22 rushes during the Alouettes' 0-2 start.
