Tiger-Cats 41, Alouettes 10: Jeremiah Masoli threw for a season-high 417 yards and finished with a touchdown pass and two rushing scores as Hamilton remained unbeaten by knocking off visiting Montreal.

Masoli completed 25-of-31 passes - despite three interceptions - while backup Dane Evans rushed for a score to help the Tiger-Cats improve to 3-0 to start a season for the first time since 2004. Brandon Banks had seven receptions for 152 yards, along with a touchdown on the ground, and Bralon Addison gained 121 yards on eight catches to help push Hamilton into sole possession of first place in the East Division.

Vernon Adams Jr. went 14-of-24 through the air for 173 yards with a touchdown and an interception while Matt Schiltz came off the bench to gain 64 yards passing on 6-of-8 attempts for the Alouettes (0-2), who are 3-17 on the road since the start of 2017. Running back William Stanback had 115 total yards from scrimmage to lead Montreal and teammate B.J. Cunningham hauled in eight passes for 93 yards.

Evans sneaked in from 1 yard out to open the scoring early in the second quarter and Masoli hit Addison for the two-point conversion before Boris Bede connected from 46 yards to cut the lead to 8-3. Banks scooted 30 yards for a score to increase the lead and a 63-yard punt return by Frankie Williams set up Hamilton for more points, but the Alouettes held to remain within 15-3 at intermission.

Sean Thomas-Erlington caught a 75-yard scoring strike from Masoli on the third play of the second half and Lirim Hajrullahu booted a 34-yard field goal to make it 26-3, before rookie Jake Weineke caught his first CFL touchdown (27 yards) to close the gap late in the third quarter. Greg Reid hauled in his second interception of the game in the end zone for Montreal early in the fourth quarter, but Masoli ran 9 yards for a score with 10:47 remaining to seal the victory before adding a 1-yard dive later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Thomas-Erlington finished with 47 yards rushing and 102 more on five receptions. … Montreal DE John Bowman left the game with an apparent head injury late in the third quarter. … Alouettes QB Antonio Pipkin will miss about six weeks with an ankle injury suffered in the team's opener while LB Bo Lokombo (ribs) and S Taylor Loffler (knee) also missed Friday's contest. … Williams ended up with 185 yards on punt and kickoff returns for the Tiger-Cats. … Hajrullahu's field goal left him one shy of 200 for his CFL career.
