Lions 42, Eskimos 32: Travis Lulay threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns as BC pulled away from visiting Edmonton in the second half to clinch a playoff spot.
Lulay completed 14-of-21 passes and Tyrell Sutton gained 97 yards on 16 carries as the Lions (9-7) posted their sixth win in seven games. DeVier Posey hauled in five passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns while Bryan Burnham finished with three catches for 71 yards and a TD for BC, which improved to 7-1 at home.
Mike Reilly was 18-of-28 for 268 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a score for the Eskimos (8-9), who have dropped six consecutive road games. Bryant Mitchell made six catches for 110 yards and a touchdown while Duke Williams had four receptions for 80 yards for Edmonton, which is in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
Sean Whyte kicked a 47-yard field goal and Reilly scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak to help put Edmonton on top 12-0 before Chris Rainey returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and Burnham made a 5-yard TD catch to give BC a 14-12 lead after one quarter. Reilly rolled out to his right and fired a 23-yard scoring strike to Mitchell before Ty Long (30 yards) and Whyte (14) traded field goals as Edmonton took a 22-17 advantage into halftime.
Lulay threw three touchdown passes to Posey (4, 65 and 32 yards) as BC scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to take control 38-22. Aaron Grymes returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown and Whyte converted a 40-yard field goal with 1:51 remaining in the fourth to reduce the deficit to seven points, but Long split the uprights with 13 seconds left to secure a postseason berth for the Lions.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Reilly registered his 13th rushing touchdown of the season, which is one shy of the CFL record set by Doug Flutie in 1991. … Rainey has returned two kicks for touchdowns against Edmonton in 2018 after a 79-yard punt return TD in Week 9. … Lulay threw four touchdown passes for the first time since Sept. 8, 2012. … The announced attendance at BC Place was 20,463.
