Tiger-Cats 40, Lions 10: Brandon Banks hauled in two of Jeremiah Masoli's three touchdown passes as Hamilton halted a two-game slide with a decisive victory over visiting BC.

Masoli went 18-of-26 through the air for 189 yards and the Tiger-Cats (7-7) scored a pair of touchdowns on interception returns to improve to 4-3 at home and 4-6 against the West Division. Banks caught nine passes for 79 yards after missing two games with a groin injury and John White added 108 yards on the ground for Hamilton, which moved within two points of first-place Ottawa in the East Division.

Jonathon Jennings, who threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns in last week's win against the Tiger-Cats, was intercepted three times in the second contest of the back-to-back set while completing 17-of-25 passes for 146 yards. Backup quarterback Cody Fajardo (7-of-12) threw for 69 yards and a TD while gaining another 27 yards on the ground for the Lions (6-7), who saw their three-game winning streak end as they dropped to 1-6 on the road.

Luke Tasker dived to pull in Masoli's 13-yard scoring strike that ended the first drive of the game and, one play from scrimmage later, Don Unamba returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown as Hamilton jumped to a quick 13-0 lead. Masoli connected with Banks for a pair of short TD passes (7 and 8 yards) that sandwiched a 29-yard field goal by BC's Ty Long, and the Tiger-Cats enjoyed a 30-3 lead at halftime.

The Lions ran out of time deep in Hamilton territory late in the second quarter and could not get much done on their first two possessions of the third before Lirim Hajrullahu extended the advantage with a 51-yard field goal. The Tiger-Cats continued the rout late in the third quarter on Mike Daly's 58-yard interception return for a 40-3 cushion before BC finally found the end zone on Fajardo's 13-yard touchdown pass to Shaq Johnson with 8:48 left in the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Masoli made his 24th consecutive start, the longest such streak for a Tiger-Cats quarterback since Henry Burris (2012-13), and the club has gone 13-11 during that stretch. … Lions RB Chris Rainey registered 166 return yards to go along with 41 from scrimmage. … Hamilton RB Alex Green, who has recorded seven rushing touchdowns this season, missed his second straight game with a shoulder injury. … The Lions acquired RB Tyrell Sutton from Montreal during the week, but he did not play Saturday. … Tiger-Cats LB Larry Dean has recorded 19 tackles in the last two contests against BC.
