Redblacks 28, Eskimos 15: Trevor Harris threw for 313 yards and a touchdown while rookie Lewis Ward booted seven field goals for the second time this season as East Division-leading Ottawa held off visiting Edmonton.

Harris completed 23-of-30 passes and connected with Greg Ellingson for a key touchdown in the fourth quarter that gave the Redblacks (8-5) a two-score cushion. William Powell rushed for 147 yards to take over the lead in the CFL and Brad Sinopoli hauled in six passes for 113 yards to pace Ottawa, which will visit the Eskimos on Oct. 13.

Mike Reilly was 27-of-41 for 276 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another score but threw an interception and committed a fumble in the fourth quarter for Edmonton (7-6), which fell to 2-5 on the road. League receiving yards leader D'haquille "Duke" Williams caught four passes for 65 yards and a TD for the Eskimos, who lost for the fourth time in their last 12 games when coming off a bye week.

The Redblacks had two touchdowns taken off the scoreboard due to penalties in the first quarter and settled for 27- and 32-yard field goals from Ward to take a 6-0 lead early in the second. Ottawa had another TD erased by a penalty and Harris threw an interception deep in Edmonton territory before Reilly sneaked into the end zone from 1 yard out, but Ward's 40-yard kick as time expired in the first half gave the Redblacks a 12-7 advantage.

Reilly connected with Williams for a 23-yard touchdown and Bryant Mitchell (eight receptions) on the two-point conversion to forge a tie before Ward converted his sixth field goal - another 40-yarder - to give Ottawa an 18-15 lead going into the final period. Derico Murray picked off a pass by Reilly deep in Redblacks territory and Ottawa gave itself more cushion on a 10-play drive that ended with Harris' 5-yard scoring strike to Ellingson with 3:44 to go.
