Nichols completed 13-of-24 passes while Nic Demski and Weston Dressler each caught a touchdown toss for the Blue Bombers (5-3), who moved into a second-place tie with Edmonton in the West Division. Andrew Harris rushed for 82 yards and a score while adding four receptions for 46 yards as Winnipeg avenged a 31-17 defeat to Hamilton in Week 3.

Jeremiah Masoli was 17-of-27 for 251 yards and a touchdown while adding another 80 yards on the ground for the Tiger-Cats (3-5), who have dropped four of their last five games. Alex Green rushed for 63 yards and a pair of scores while Brandon Banks hauled in six passes for 106 yards and a TD for Hamilton, which failed to convert a 3rd-and-7 in Winnipeg territory in the final minute.

Green plunged into the end zone from 1 yard out to give the Tiger-Cats an early 7-0 lead before Nichols fired a 10-yard scoring strike to Dressler, and Harris rushed for a 3-yard touchdown to put the Blue Bombers on top 14-7 after one quarter. Justin Medlock kicked a 23-yard field goal and Hamilton conceded a safety as Winnipeg scored the final 19 points of the first half to take a 19-7 advantage into intermission.

Nichols lofted a 34-yard touchdown pass to Demski to help extend Winnipeg's lead to 26-10 before Banks hauled in a 15-yard TD pass in double coverage to close the gap to 10 following a missed two-point convert. Green powered his way for a 2-yard touchdown to pull the Tiger-Cats within three points before Medlock connected on 33-yard kick with 1:22 remaining to give the Blue Bombers a six-point cushion they would not relinquish.
