Tiger-Cats 50, Alouettes 11: Jeremiah Masoli threw for 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns as visiting Hamilton pounded Montreal to spoil Johnny Manziel's first CFL start.

Masoli completed 17-of-26 passes and added a touchdown on the ground while Alex Green rushed for 74 yards and two scores after missing the previous six games with a broken hand as the Tiger-Cats (3-4) ended their three-game skid. Jalen Saunders hauled in seven passes for 150 yards and a TD while Brandon Banks made five catches for 114 yards and a score for Hamilton, which beat Montreal for the fifth time in six meetings.

Manziel was limited to 104 yards on 11-of-20 passing and threw four interceptions in his regular-season debut while Vernon Adams Jr. ran for a touchdown as the Alouettes (1-6) suffered their fourth straight loss. Tyrell Sutton gained 61 yards on nine carries while Geno Lewis caught four passes for 76 yards for Montreal, which has used four different starting quarterbacks in the last four games.

Masoli fired a 17-yard scoring strike to Banks and Green rushed for a 1-yard touchdown as the Tiger-Cats built a 14-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Sean Thomas-Erlington returned a blocked punt 10 yards for a special-teams score and Saunders hauled in a 21-yard touchdown pass as Hamilton doubled its advantage heading into the second quarter.

Green powered his way into the end zone from 1 yard out midway through the second and Lirim Hajrullahu kicked a 42-yard field goal with 48 seconds left in the first half to put the Tiger-Cats in the driver's seat at 38-3. Hajrullahu's 48-yard kick was the lone scoring play in the third quarter and Masoli scrambled for a 6-yard touchdown with 13:28 remaining to put an exclamation point on a memorable victory.
