Redblacks 21, Tiger-Cats 15: Trevor Harris threw for 228 yards and rookie Lewis Ward connected on a franchise record-tying seven field goals in seven attempts as visiting Ottawa held off a late rally by Hamilton.

Harris completed 23-of-35 passes and Brad Sinopoli, who leads the CFL in receptions (45), had nine of them for 82 yards as the Redblacks (4-2) posted back-to-back wins for the first time in 2018. Ward is 12-for-12 on field-goal tries over the last two weeks and William Powell accounted for 108 total yards for Ottawa, which ended the game with consecutive sacks to seal it.

Jeremiah Masoli was 26-of-38 for 352 yards - the 10th time in 11 games he has finished with at least 300 - and a touchdown to lead the Tiger-Cats (2-4). Jalen Saunders caught eight passes for 154 yards and a score while Brandon Banks gained 113 yards on nine receptions and Lirim Hajrullahu made 2-of-4 field-goal attempts for Hamilton.

Ward booted field goals of 42 and 26 yards as the Redblacks took a 6-1 early in the second quarter, but Hajrullahu's 49-yard kick closed the gap to 6-5 at intermission. Ward connected from 47 yards early in the third to increase the lead to four and Diontae Spencer's 26-yard punt return set up a 37-yard field goal as Ottawa took a 12-5 advantage into the final 15 minutes.

Harris found Powell for a 50-yard reception that led to Ward's 35-yard kick that pushed the advantage to 10 and the Redblacks led 18-8 before the Tiger-Cats completed a four-play drive with a 29-yard touchdown pass from Masoli to Saunders with just under two minutes left. Ottawa recovered the onside kick and Ward booted a 43-yard field goal, but Hamilton drove to the Ottawa 24 before coming up short.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ottawa, which received an interception from LB Kevin Brown in the first half and five sacks overall - two from LB Anthony Cioffi, has won each of its last four trips to Hamilton. … The Tiger-Cats were without WRs Terrence Toliver (16 catches, 253 yards) and Luke Tasker (20, 279) because of undisclosed injuries. … Ottawa backup QB Dominique Davis launched a pass on the final play of the first half that deflected into the hands of RJ Harris for a 45-yard gain, but he fell 2 yards short of the end zone. … Hajrullahu had one field goal blocked and missed another wide left in the first half, both resulting in singles.
