Eskimos 37, Alouettes 29: Trevor Harris threw for 421 yards and a touchdown and Josh Johnson recorded three interceptions as visiting Edmonton held off a late rally by Montreal to win the East Division semifinal.

Harris completed 36-of-39 passes while C.J. Gable rushed for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Eskimos (9-10), who will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Nov. 17 in the East Division final. Greg Ellingson hauled in eight passes for 125 yards while Calvin McCarty caught a touchdown pass as Edmonton will make its fifth division final appearance in the last six years despite failing to pick up a first down in the fourth quarter.

Vernon Adams Jr. was 14-of-27 for 226 yards and added rushing touchdown but threw three interceptions in his first playoff start for the Alouettes (10-9), who haven't won a postseason game since 2014. William Stanback rushed for 38 yards and two touchdowns while Mario Alford added a special teams score for Montreal, which missed an extra point and a two-point conversion.

Gable (2 yards) and Stanback (4) traded rushing touchdowns before the Edmonton running back moved the pile 3 yards for a score to put Edmonton on top 15-7, but Alford returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a TD to pull Montreal within two points. Harris rolled to his right and found McCarty for a 4-yard touchdown before Stanback rushed for a 2-yard score, but Sean Whyte kicked a 43-yard field goal on the final play of the second quarter to give the Eskimos a 25-19 halftime lead.

Whyte connected on field goals from 25, 35, and 17 yards to put Edmonton in front 34-22 early in the fourth quarter before Woody Baron's interception led to a 10-yard touchdown scamper by Adams which cut Montreal's deficit to five points. The Alouettes were then driving to take the lead, but Johnson intercepted a pass by Adams to set up Whyte's 36-yard field goal with 1:02 remaining to punch Edmonton's ticket to the East Division final.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Montreal WRs DeVier Posey (thigh) and Chris Matthews (hamstring) missed the game because of injury while Edmonton was without DBs Monshadrik Hunter (wrist) and Forrest Hightower (undisclosed). … Harris completed 22 consecutive passes to open the game, which was one shy of the CFL record set by Hamilton's Jeremiah Masoli in 2016. … Harris has thrown for 1,523 yards and 10 touchdowns in his last four playoff games.
