Andre Kelly hit a layup and a dunk in a game-opening 9-2 burst, and host Cal cruised to a 74-50 victory over Arizona State in a Pacific-12 Conference game Sunday in Berkeley, Calif.

Kelly finished with 13 points and Jordan Shepherd a team-high 16 for the Golden Bears (9-5, 2-1).

Cal's 24-point margin of victory was its largest over Arizona State since a 68-43 triumph on Feb. 8, 2017.

On Sunday, DJ Horne led all scorers with 17 points for the Sun Devils (5-8, 1-2), who had victories in their past four trips to Berkeley.

Led by eight points from Shepherd and seven apiece from Kelly and Jalen Celestine, Cal scored 41 points in the first half and led by as many as 20.

Arizona State, which was supposed to be playing Southern Cal and UCLA over the weekend before the Pac-12 reshuffled the schedule amid several postponements, never got closer than 15 in the second half.

Grant Anticevich grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to complement 10 points for the Golden Bears, who had their originally scheduled game against Stanford on Sunday postponed because of COVID issues in the Cardinal program.

With Brown chipping in with six rebounds, Cal outrebounded the visitors 38-32.

Celestine totaled nine points and had one of Cal's nine 3-pointers. The Golden Bears outscored the Sun Devils 27-9 from beyond the arc.

Horne's game-high point total was the result of 6-for-10 shooting from the field and two of Arizona State's three 3-pointers. He also made all three of his free throws.

The Sun Devils shot just 3-for-17 from beyond the arc.

Enoch Boakye had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Sun Devils, who lost their second in a row after a three-game winning streak.

Arizona State's two Pac-12 losses this season have been by 22 and 24 points. They were drubbed 51-29 at home by Washington State on Dec. 1.
