Oregon State scored 30 consecutive points during a first-half run-away Friday en route to a 114-42 victory over visiting Northwest University (WA) in a nonconference game.

Ethan Thompson scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead six Beavers in double figures as Oregon State (2-0) scored its second consecutive home win in the three-team, three-day event.

The Beavers had beaten Pacific-12 rival California 71-63 in a nonconference game on Wednesday.

Northwest, an NAIA program playing less than 24 hours after losing 86-61 to Cal, actually led 5-4 after Pa'Treon Lee's hoop in the game's third minute and was within 11-7 after another Lee basket before the onslaught began.

Thompson had 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in the run that opened a 41-7 margin with 5:14 remaining in the half.

J.R. Delgado's 3-pointer ended Northwest's drought eight seconds before it would have reached a full 10 minutes.

The Eagles missed five 3-pointers, four two-pointers and two free throws in the scoreless spell, mixing in eight turnovers.

Oregon State led 57-15 at the half and coasted home in the first-ever matchup of the Pacific Northwest teams.

Jarod Lucas backed Thompson with 14 points for the Beavers, who topped 100 points for the first time since putting up 101 against Missouri State in December of 2018.

Maurice Calloo (12), Zach Reichle (12), Isaiah Johnson (10) and Tariq Silver (10) also scored in double figures for Oregon State, which shot 65.7 percent from the field and 10-for-18 on 3-pointers.

Warith Alatishe collected a game-high nine rebounds to complement nine points for the Beavers.

Lee and Cesar Sandoval had eight points apiece to pace Northwest, which missed 19 of its 22 3-point attempts and shot just 28.1 percent overall.

The school from Kirkland, Wash., has never beaten a Pac-12 team in its basketball history.
