USC 78, Boston College 62: Julian Jacobs had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead five players in double figures for the host Trojans.

Nikola Jovanovic added a season-high 15 points and Roschon Prince and Pe’Shon Howard scored 14 apiece for USC (6-3). Byron Wesley contributed 12 points for the Trojans.

Ryan Anderson scored 13 points to lead Boston College (3-6). KC Caudill added a career-high 11 points off the bench for the Eagles and Joe Rahon also finished with 11 points and had nine assists.

Boston College led by as many as seven early in the game before the teams entered the half tied at 32. Wesley, Howard and Jacobs made 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the second half to give the Trojans a 43-35 lead and Boston College was chasing the rest of the way.

The Eagles twice trimmed the deficit to four but could get no closer. Olivier Hanlan, who came in averaging a team-high 20.9 points for the Eagles, finished with a season-low six points, the first time he scored in single figures in the last 17 games dating back to last season.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Prince and Anderson played on the same high school basketball team at Long Beach Poly. … Boston College, which entered the day leading the country in free throw percentage at 82.3 percent, shot 9-for-15 from the line. … USC 7-2 center Omar Oraby blocked four shots, the fourth time he has blocked at least four in a game this season.
