No. 11 Georgetown 90, DePaul 66: Freshman D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored a career-high 33 points as the host Hoyas cruised to their eighth straight win.

Nate Lubick and Jabril Trawick stepped up for a hobbled Otto Porter Jr. with 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Georgetown (20-4, 10-3 Big East), which shot 63.5 percent and defeated the Blue Demons for the 12th straight time.

DePaul (11-15, 2-11), which has lost 41 straight to ranked opponents, was paced by 16 points from Brandon Young.

The Blue Demons stayed in the game early, but the Hoyas grabbed the lead for good on a 3-pointer from Markel Starks with 12:12 left in the first half. Georgetown used 10 points off eight DePaul turnovers – including five points off three steals in a span of 1:43 at the end of the half - to stretch the margin to 43-29 at the break.

Despite a limited Porter, the Hoyas continued the offensive onslaught after intermission. Smith-Rivera drilled four 3-pointers and the Hoyas increased their cushion to 67-41 following a three-point play by Trawick with 12:21 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Porter suffered an apparent right knee injury in the first half. He started the second half, but did not return after a substitution with 17:20 remaining. …. DePaul hasn’t defeated the Hoyas since 1994 and is 6-21 all-time in the series. … Smith-Rivera’s previous career high was 19 points in his college debut in November against Duquesne.
