Miami (Fla.) 60, Boston College 59: Durand Scott scored 15 points, including four free throws in the final 25.7 seconds, as the visiting Hurricanes came from behind to edge the Eagles and take sole possession of first place in the ACC.

Scott made his final two from the line with 10.6 seconds remaining for a 60-57 lead, but fouled Olivier Hanlan on a desperation 3-point try with less one second left. Hanlan made the first two before the third came up short to end the game.

Kenny Kadji recorded 14 points and Trey McKinney Jones added 11 for the Hurricanes (13-3, 4-0 ACC), who won their fifth straight game. North Carolina State lost at Maryland 51-50 on Wednesday to leave Miami as the only unbeaten team in league play.

Hanlan led the way for Boston College (9-8, 1-3) with 17 points and Lonnie Jackson had 16. Ryan Anderson added 11 points for the Eagles, who have lost three of their last four.

Miami, which trailed 28-26 at intermission, ran off 10 straight points – six by Julian Gamble – early in the second half to take a 36-31 lead. The Eagles responded with the next 11 points, including 3-pointers by Jackson and Patrick Heckmann, to regain control and pushed their advantage as high as seven.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami is off to its best start in league play since 1997-98 when it went 5-0 in the Big East. … Boston College has lost five consecutive games to the Hurricanes. … Shane Larkin had seven points, six rebounds and five assists for Miami.
