: Michael Snaer had 19 points and seven rebounds, leading the Seminoles over the Golden Hurricane in the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic in Sunrise, Fla.

Terrance Shannon added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Florida State (8-4), which forced 16 turnovers. Okaro White added 12 points while freshman guard Devon Bookert finished with 10.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair highlighted by sharp 3-point shooting (6-for-11) from Tulsa (7-6). Florida State led by three at the break, and both teams built five-point leads in the first 20 minutes. The Seminoles finally gained some separation with a 9-0 run midway through the second half.

Pat Swilling, Jr. scored 19 points for the Golden Hurricane while Scottie Haralson added 17.

Florida State won the rebounding battle 40-28.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tulsa shot 8-for-18 from the free-throw line. … Florida State made its first appearance in the Orange Bowl Classic since 2008 when it defeated Western Kentucky 82-69. … The Seminoles have won all four meetings in the series, which dates back to 1963.
