Kelsey Barlow scored 14 points to lead Purdue to a 75-60 win over Illinois at Mackey Arena.
Purdue (12-3) extended its home winning streak to 26 games – the fifth-longest streak of its kind in the country.
Illinois (12-3) lost its third game in the last five outings and trails the all-time series with the Boilermakers 94-84.
Purdue broke the game open with a 35-6 run that spanned halftime, taking a commanding 52-29 lead with just under 12 minutes remaining in the game. Illinois shot just 27 percent in the second half and committed 17 turnovers for the game.
Purdue smothered the Illinois frontcourt, locking down 7-footer Meyers Leonard and getting the Illinois center in early foul trouble. Leonard was just two for four from the field and finished with seven points.
The Boilermakers got a huge effort from its bench, with the reserves combining for 35 points in the win. Purdue buried nine of its 17 shots from beyond the arc. Ryne Smith chipped in with 12 points in the win.
Brandon Paul led the Fighting Illini with 17 points. His crossover and two-handed dunk in garbage time was the lone bright spot for Illinois. D.J. Richardson added 15 points in the loss.
