Herb Pope made his first six shots from the field and keyed a 14-1 run midway through the first half to pace Seton Hall to a 68-54 victory over visiting Wake Forest on Saturday for its fifth straight win.
Pope finished with a game-high 26 points on 8-for-9 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds as Seton Hall (8-1) improved to 6-0 at home.
Travis McKie led Wake Forest (6-4) with 17 points.
Ty Walker returned from suspension for the Demon Deacons. The ACC’s second-leading shot-blocker from a year ago, who was suspended for the first semester because of a violation of school policy, scored only two points in limited action.
Tied at 14 in the first half, the Pirates went on a quick run to take a 28-15 lead and never trailed again. They led 32-22 at the half and the Demon Deacons never got the lead under six points the rest of the way.
