NEWARK, N.J. -- Brandon Knight's pull-up jumper with 5.4 seconds remaining propelled Kentucky to a 62-60 victory over top-seeded Ohio State in NCAA East Regional semifinal action on Friday night.
The fourth-seeded Wildcats (28-8) will face North Carolina for the regional title on Sunday.
Ohio State (34-3) tied the score at 60-60 on a 3-pointer by Jon Diebler with 21.2 seconds to go before Knight — who had made just 2 of 9 shots and turned the ball over six times — produced his second game-winning basket of the tournament. The Buckeyes had a shot to win at the other end, but William Buford's 3-point attempt from the left wing was off the mark.
Knight hit the game-winner in Kentucky's 59-57 win over Princeton in the tournament opener.
Josh Harrellson led Kentucky with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while DeAndre Liggins added 15 points.
Jared Sullinger paced Ohio State with 21 points and 16 rebounds and Diebler added 16 points. The Buckeyes shot a season-worst 32.8 percent (19 of 58) from the field. Buford, the team's No. 2 scorer, shot 2 of 16.
