Derwin Kitchen finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds and Florida State regrouped late for a 72-62 victory at North Carolina State on Sunday evening.
Bernard James and Michael Snaer added 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Seminoles (21-9, 11-5 ACC), who will meet either Virginia Tech or Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament on Friday.
Florida State led the whole way until Scott Wood's 3-pointer put the Wolfpack in front 53-52 with 8:11 to go. Down by a 55-54 count a minute later, the Seminoles put together a 16-5 run to regain control down the stretch.
Kitchen scored 13 of his points in the second half, when Florida State shot 53.8 percent (14 of 26) from the floor.
C.J. Leslie paced North Carolina State (15-15, 5-11) with 12 points.
