Mike Singletary and David Tairu had 17 points apiece to lead a balanced attack as Texas Tech used a pair of first-half runs to coast to an 84-58 win over Oklahoma on Wednesday night in Lubbock, Texas.
This one was over early, as the Red Raiders (13-17, 5-10 Big 12) broke out to a 12-1 lead before the game was four minutes old. A C.J. Washington layup midway through the half moved the Sooners (12-17, 4-11 Big 12) to within 10, but Texas Tech countered by ripping off a 16-1 stretch over the next eight minutes.
Singletary had the first five points of the second half, capped by a 3-pointer that extended the lead to 45-20, and the Sooners wouldn't get closer than 20 the rest of the way.
Wally Dunn added 15 points and Brad Reese had 12 for the Red Raiders, who won for just the second time in the past eight games.
Cade Davis poured in a game-high 21 points for Oklahoma, which dropped its eighth game in a row following a four-game winning streak.
