Nate Bendall and Brian Green scored 13 points apiece as No. 17 Utah State rebounded from its first conference loss in 26 games with a dominating 71-55 victory over visiting Fresno State on Saturday.
Tai Wesley and Pooh Williams added 10 points apiece as Utah State (23-3, 12-1 Western Athletic) used a 23-2 first-half run to take control.
Nedeljko Golubovic scored 15 points and Bracken Funk added 14 points for the Bulldogs (11-14, 5-8).
The Aggies, who had their conference-record winning streak snapped at Idaho 64-56 on Wednesday. shot 60 percent from the field in the first half Saturday while winning at home for the 29th consecutive time.
Fresno State led 13-12 just more than nine minutes into the contest before Utah State exploded. The Aggies scored 10 straight points with Green’s 3-pointer making it 22-13 with 7:07 left in the half.
Funk temporarily halted the surge with a basket, but Utah State responded with 13 consecutive points to take a 20-point lead at 35-15 on Williams’ 3-pointer with 2:56 remaining.
Utah State’s largest lead was 49-23 after a 3-pointer by Williams with 16:35 to play.
