B.J. Holmes hit a long 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining to force overtime and scored five points in the extra session as No. 22 Texas A&M rallied past Colorado, 73-70, on Wednesday night in Boulder, Colo.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Texas A&M (18-5, 5-4 Big 12), which beat Colorado (15-10, 4-6) for the eighth straight time.
Holmes finished with 13 points and A&M rallied from a 58-52 deficit in the final 3:02. Nathan Walkup’s 18 points led Texas A&M, which also got 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench from David Loubeau. Khris Middleton added 11 and six assists.
Colorado was led by Alec Burks, who had a game-high 24 points, and Cory Higgins, who scored 15 of his 19 in the second half. The Buffaloes have dropped six of seven after starting 3-0 in the league play.
